Your ideas can shape the future of your industry.
Writing for high-visibility publications gives you access to a well-established audience that can help you shape the future of your industry. In this program, we will work through each stage of The SILVA Method™ to identify, pitch, and write for the high-visibility publication that will best serve your business goals. You won’t just learn how to publish articles; you’ll do it. And I’ll make sure you feel supported and confident every step of the way. In our time together, you will:
- Identify a shortlist of publications to pitch tailored to help you reach your goals.
- Define your body of work and develop an editorial calendar with 12 article ideas.
- Craft a compelling pitch and submit it to the publication of your choice.
- Write, edit, and submit an article that positions you as an authority in your field.
- Develop a plan to use each article as an appreciating asset designed to help you reach your business goals.
- Become a stronger writer, deeper thinker, and more confident communicator.
Pathway to Publication is packed with value.
“I’ve always enjoyed writing but wanted to become a better (and faster) writer. Signing up for Erica’s group program allowed me to immerse myself in a supportive environment with others who had similar goals. Pathway to Publication is packed with value. It was definitely worth my time and money. The weekly meetings were well-paced, and the small group size meant I received plenty of support and developed real relationships with my colleagues. The combination of learning and application gave me a solid foundation. I’m a much more efficient writer now and am grateful to Erica for her guidance. I highly recommend her program!”

Six months of structure, feedback, and support.
Pathway to Publication is a hybrid private and small group program that offers six months of support. A twelve-week intensive is followed by three additional months of workshops, asynchronous consulting, and one-to-one strategy sessions. The program includes:
Five Training Modules
Each training module includes five lessons featuring a video and accompanying resources. These modules will help you select a publication, define your body of work, write your article, pitch your article, and use that article to achieve your business goals.
Five Work Parties
During each 90-minute work party, I will give you a series of assignments to complete during the call. The focus is on progress, not perfection, and these sessions provide the time and structure you need to get shit done.
Five Group Discussions
Each 90-minute discussion session is an opportunity to ask questions, get personalized feedback, and tap into the wisdom of the cohort. These calls provide you with the support you need to succeed.
Inspired Writing Workshop
In this three-hour workshop, you will complete prompted writing exercises designed to help you dive deeper into your well of knowledge and experience, plan an article, and write a first draft.
Peer Editing Workshop
In this three-hour workshop, we will talk about how to edit your work and other people’s work and then put that learning to use by editing articles written by two of your cohort colleagues. Your article will also be edited by two of your colleagues.
Asynchronous Consulting
Stay connected in our private Slack community. Public requests allow the entire community to see the responses, share their ideas, and learn from one another. But you can always message me directly to receive a private reply.
Three Private Strategy Sessions
You determine the goal of each one-hour strategy session, which can focus on anything from reviewing your shortlist of publications to providing feedback on your pitch or article. Sessions must be scheduled within three months of completing the program.
Bonus: Writing Practice
Three months complimentary membership to Writing Practice, a community of professionals committed to completing at least one writing project each month. Membership includes ongoing asynchronous consulting and monthly writing and peer editing workshops.
Erica is an extremely diligent professional.
“Writing suits my strengths and temperament, but I wasn’t sure how to get started. Erica is an extremely diligent professional. Her follow-through is among the best I’ve seen, researching resources and providing reliable and encouraging accountability. By the end of the program, I had already published one article and submitted a second. I plan to continue my writing practice and write for increasingly competitive publications as my track record develops.”

Are you ready to write to build your authority?
If you want more of the right clients, the right projects, and the right partners, you need to demonstrate what differentiates you from your consulting colleagues. Writing articles for high-visibility publications gives you access to a well-established audience and sends a clear signal that you are an authority in your field. And that opens the doors to new opportunities.
Erica walked us through every step of the process.
“I had a collection of ideas I wanted to form into something worthy of publication, but I had no idea where to start. Erica walked us through every step of the process, from choosing a publication to writing and editing an article to building a good working relationship with editors. Pathway to Publication taught me a thorough yet manageable process to transform my ideas into published pieces. On top of Erica’s expertise and guidance, the camaraderie, support, and accountability of being part of a small group was invaluable.”

Frequently Asked Questions
No. I will teach you techniques for creating great articles and pitching your ideas to publications. I cannot guarantee that your work will be published. That decision lies with the publication’s editorial team. I can guarantee that if you implement everything you learn, you will be a better writer and a deeper thinker with the skills to create and pitch work worthy of publication.
I wanted to set a realistic pace for the program — one that allows you to make meaningful progress without taking over your life. Each of the five training modules includes approximately one hour of video (or you can download and review the presentation) and typically requires two to four hours for implementation. I encourage you to review the training materials before our meetings and use the scheduled work parties to complete the assignments. Expect each module to require between four and six hours spread over two weeks, including discussion groups and work parties. When we start writing and editing articles, your time commitment will vary because every writer writes at a different pace. Expect to spend between eight and twelve hours each month, including attending the workshops.
Pathway to Publication gives you all the tools you need to write for high-visibility publications, along with the time and support you need to implement everything you learn. We’ve all invested in programs we never implemented, so I built implementation right into this program. In addition to the training modules and discussion sessions, you’ll be able to take advantage of five work party sessions and receive six months of guidance, support, and feedback from an experienced writer and editor. I expect participants to develop and refine four articles and to pitch at least one publication during our time together.
All sessions are recorded, and a link to the recording is made available within 24 hours. You can also download all of the materials. Even if you can’t participate fully, you still get the full value of the program. I made it easy to skip a week or two when necessary and pick up again when you can. However, if the disruption in your life is significant, please contact me. I’ll work with you to get you what you need!
People committed to a program are more likely to do the work and therefore get better results. If you’re not sure whether this is a good fit, don’t enroll in the program — at least not yet. First, check in with your body. How does the idea of enrolling in this program feel? If you’re at the intersection of excited and terrified, that’s a good sign! If you have any questions, please schedule a call. I want you to make a decision you feel great about!
