I've written more in one month than the last six!

“I joined Writing Practice to get the discipline, direction, feedback, and structure I needed to do more consistent writing for my business. I’ve written more in one month than the last six! I so appreciate Erica’s wit, wisdom, and ability to cut to the chase while providing encouragement and support. It’s great to get others’ perspectives on my writing and to give meaningful feedback on the pieces they are developing. I love this community!”

Janet Anderson, Cultivate Your Potential

Write with purpose and peer guidance.

Writing Practice is a community of professionals like you who write to share their expertise, build their reputations, and grow their businesses. Membership includes:

Inspired Writing Workshops

In these monthly three-hour workshops, I’ll guide you through the process of writing a first draft. You’ll read your work aloud and receive insights into the strengths of the piece.

Deep Work Sessions

These monthly two-hour deep work sessions include two focused sprints to help you make progress on your most pressing writing project.

Peer Editing Workshops

In these monthly 90-minute workshops, you’ll edit pieces written by two of your colleagues and two of your colleagues will edit a piece you wrote.

Skill-Building Workshops

These one-hour sessions are held twice a month and include self-directed sprints or prompted writing and editing exercises to help you improve your craft.

Private Slack Workspace

Our private Slack workspace allows us to communicate with one another between meetings. Here we can ask questions, get support, and share writing resources.

Guest Speaker Series

Guest speakers will share their insights with the community each quarter. Topics include repurposing, licensing, developing a signature method, and increasing your visibility.

Discounts and Special Pricing

Members receive $100 off all self-paced courses. Each month, members can reserve one of a limited number of one-hour strategy sessions at a special rate of $150.

Invitations to Special Events

Invitations to Pitched to Published, my monthly mini-training and Q+A, and master classes focused on writing articles for high-visibility publications.

I deeply trust Erica’s guidance.

“Erica offers valuable information about the practice of writing and I deeply trust her guidance, especially when it comes to crafting articles for publication. She is genuine and generous in supporting her clients, and I appreciate the structures and resources she has developed for the Writing Practice community. I am confident my membership in this community will enhance my writing skills and help me get my work published in the right places.”

The benefits of writing extend beyond the page.

Writing is one way to share your ideas, demonstrate your expertise, and expand your influence. It differentiates you from your peers and builds your reputation as an expert in your field. In addition, writing:

  • Requires you to think deeply to transform your ideas into a clear and compelling message.
  • Fosters creativity and innovation as you examine your area of expertise from every angle.
  • Formulates your point of view, helping you develop clear, unique, and thoughtful insights.
  • Tests and refines your ideas because the written word leaves no room for ambiguity.
  • Improves your communication skills and allows you to confidently communicate complex ideas.

Writing Practice extends these benefits even further because you receive valuable feedback and hear multiple perspectives from professionals across industries.

All career paths require written communication.

“I joined Writing Practice because I am at a crossroads in my career, and I know all the paths require regular, clear written communication. I also knew that making a financial commitment to my writing and having a set schedule to do the work where I would be accountable to others would push me out of the ‘Oh, I’ll do that later’ trap. So far it’s worked well. As a bonus, I’ve met other lovely people and imagine with time I’ll expand my network, not just my writing skills.”

Maureen Carruthers, Nonviolent Leadership Coach
